What i can offer

I am an integrative therapist based in Stoke on Trent, registered with the British association of Counsellors and psychotherapists (BACP) who is direct, genuine and empathetic. Being late diagnosed autistic has taught me to be authentically myself and embrace how unique being an autistic counsellor can be. I specialise in Neurodiversity, Bereavement, trauma, anxiety and other issues that affect your ability to live authentically. You may be struggling with a current issue or it may be a historical trauma that is impacting your life today. I work collaboratively with you and support you to challenge you perceptions of self and encourage your to identify your wants and needs without feeling guilt or shame.

Being autistic allows me to be creative in how I work and to give you am alternative perception of your situation, keeping you in control of your journey. From relationships to self esteem, there are many underlying reasons you maybe struggling but we can explore these to uncover your true potential to thrive in life and not just survive.

My own experiences have led to a drive to support others who may have been labelled as wrong or different and empower people to embrace their uniqueness and accept who they are. Working within mental health for the last 10 years I have worked with children, teens and adults on a range of issues to support them to be autonomous and overcome challenges that are preventing them from moving forward with life. Even though i am a qualified counsellor i believe that mentoring also has a place within therapy as sometimes we need strategies to overcome our barriers. I want to offer my services, skills and experiences to others that may be afraid or apprehensive of what constitutes "Typical" Therapy and work in a way that is versatile, creative and adaptive to the client in front of me, Whether that is due to needs, disabilities or even building up trust after a negative past experience of  therapy.

Not all therapy is alike nor is each therapist.

Hence the name "Define Normal Therapy" and "Define Normal Mentoring"
